  • Tubbercurry GAA Club/Sligo GAA Coaching & Games -In 2025/2026 we are continuing to build on the strong links developed with our local GAA club. We are very lucky to have access to the wonderful pitches including the which we use for school annual sport’s day as well as training for school teams. We enter teams in the Mini-7s and Cumann na mBunscol leagues – football and development hurling and camoige. We are very lucky to have coaches coming in to develop Gaelic, Hurling and Camoige skills.
  • Sligo Cumann na mBunscol – We have entered both girls and boys teams in the various competitions.
  • Sligo Sport & Recreation-
    • Ag Súgradh Le Chéile– this initiative helps parents get involved in a real way with our Active Flag activities. Parents of children in the infant classes are invited to join our Ag Súgradh Le Chéile days. 
    • Orienteering- All classes had a taster session of orienteering. 
    • Sligo Primary Schools Athletics Fest- Members from the Senior classes represented the schools in the Athletics Festival.
  • Tennis Ireland– coaches from Tennis Ireland visit the school for a block of time each year to teach tennis skills to all classes.
  • FAI Soccer – Pupils from 3rd to 6th class had soccer lessons through the FAI. The school went on to enter two teams into the FAI Primary Schools' Soccer Blitz.
  • KlaasKickz-  Students from 5th & 6th class took part in a 6 week block of soccer lessons.
  • Believe & Achieve (Dermott McDermott)- All classes took part in a block of Athletics & Gymnastics training, focusing on our Fundemental Movement Skills.
  • Victoria Walker Dance- All classes worked hard over the weeks learning a new dance. They preformed it to music during the last session. 
  • Bróga Bríomhar (Eimear Mulvey)- All classes participated in Sean Nós Dancing.
  • Jiving Juniors- All classes participated in a jiving workshop during Seachtain na Gaeilge. 
  • Tubbercurry Golf Club- During Active Schools Week, some members of the local Golf Club took the time to show a selection of students from the senior classes around the golf club. They also showed them some basic golfing skills.
  • Cycling Ireland- 5th class take part in a 5 week cycling safety programme each year. 
  • Green Schools Committee-
    • An Taisce- All classes recieved 2 cycling safety lessons as part of the Green Schools.
    • Walk On Wednesday (WOW)- The Green Schools Committee ecourage everyone to take part on their walk to school from the square on a Wednesday morning. 
  • Claremorris Swimming Pool- Children from 3rd-6th class take part in a 5 week block of swimming lessons.
  • Connacht Rugby- Children from 4th-6th took part in 2 Tag Rugby Blitzes. 
  • Active Flag homework is assigned to all our pupils.
  • Active Flag Committee (AFC)- Our pupils play a very important role in organising and delivering our Active Flag initiatives.
  • School Assemblies- Our  school assemblies includes a celebration of class participation in our ongoing active flag events, as well as acknowledging our pupils achievements outside of school.
