History

In 1995, St Joseph’s boys’ school and St Mary’s girls’ school amalgamated. As a Catholic school, with Jesus as our model, the name Holy Family (Jesus, Mary and Joseph) was chosen.

As a Marist primary school, we chose an email address in memory of Jeanne Marie CHAVOIN, foundress of the Marist Sisters (1768 – 1858). The order was formed in Belley in the Lyons region of France.

Interestingly, a French connection still remains, as Holy Family school is twinned with College Blaise Pascal in Viarmes, France.
