The Water Cycle
24th Feb 2026
Over the past few weeks, the children in 2nd class have been learning about the water cycle. They explored how the water cycle works through fun songs, drama and practical demonstrations, including observing water vapour and condensation using a kettle.
The children learned the scientific vocabulary associated with the topic: evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection. They also discussed ways to conserve water by watching a short video called 'Wally the Raindrop'.
We also wrote poems explaining how the water cycle works and as a final activity they planned, designed and created a diorama of the water cycle. Each group then presented their model to the class.
