Lá Glas

27th May 2021

We had our ‘Lá Glas’ today as part of our ‘Walk or Cycle to School Week’, which is part of the Green Schools project.
Our pupils and staff wore green to symbolise all the work we are doing in our school to make it a better place.

The Green Schools Programme is an ‘international environmental education programme, offering a well-defined, controllable way for schools to take environmental issues from the curriculum and apply them to the day-to-day running of their school’.

We have seven Green Flags in our school at present. Ms Gordon, our Green Schools coordinator, along with our staff and pupils are working towards our eighth Green Flag. This represents 16 years of people in Holy Family NS working together to reduce waste, reduce electricity and water usage and learning more about our world.
