INTO Budget Campaign

Our Teachers' Union, the INTO, are asking staff and parents to contact their local politican prior to the budget. Here are some of the issues:

  • An increase in the primary capitation grant by €75 per pupil. (Primary Schools get the lowest capitation of all sectors. Schools operate on a very low budget)
  • A reduction in the average class sizes by two pupils.(We have the largest class size in Europe)
  • The introduction of Special Education Needs Coordinators to improve provision and planning for the primary education of children with additional needs.
