The Active School Committee are running a Bake Sale on Tuesday February 17th.Children in 4th, 5th and 6th classes are invited to bake (or provide) one treat which can be sold on the day | School closed for midterm break on 19th and 20th of February. | Swimming letters have been sent home with children from 3rd to 6th. Money can be paid to the class teacher.

The Book Fair has arrived in Holy Family NS

Books will be available to view in the school hall. 

A percentage of the money raised will be used by the school to buy books for the school library. 

We love reading here in Holy Family NS and some of our younger classes enjoy taking part in our Reading Buddies with older classes. 

Some classes take part in DEAR time (Drop Everything And Read) daily, where the pupils and teacher read silently for a set amount of time. It creates a a calming atmosphere in the classroom and sometimes  mindfulness music plays in the background to enhance this.

We regularly visit Tubbercurry Community Library to read books, choose books to bring back to school and sometimes there are special visitors to the library which the children always enjoy.
