National Diversity Games - Athlone

27th Jan 2020

Children from 3rd to 6th Class took part in the National Diversity Games in Athlone on Thursday 23rd January. This was our second time to take part in these - and after our great success the last time we decided to travel again. The Diversity Games supports inclusion and diversity in our schools. The children who were selected were lucky enough to run in the Indoor Arena - running in the 60m, 150m 400m, 4 x 100m relay and long jump.

The children were all excellent on the day and as well as behaving so well they also had great success in their races. Well done to Lucas and Matylda on getting gold in the 150m, Arlin on getting silver in long jump, Conor on getting gold in the 60m, Aoibhe on getting bronze in the 400m, Keelin got silver in the 60m and Radoslav on getting bronze. The senior boys relay team also won gold - while the senior girls won silver. The senior boys came 2nd overall in the competition.

The children had a great day out and represented our school excellently with their great skills and also their great behaviour. Thanks to Eilise and Sean for bringing the children to the event.
